Terms and conditions
Confidentiality
Your confidentiality is extremely important. Anything that you share in counselling sessions is strictly confidential. If I believe that your information is required to be shared, I will discuss this with you and request your written or verbal consent.
Exceptions to confidentiality may occur only under the following circumstances:
- If you disclose or I believe there is a plan or threat to harm yourself, I am required to notify your next of kin and legal authorities. In addition, if you disclose or I believe there is a plan or threat or harm another person, I am required to warn the possible victim as well as legal authorities.
- If you disclose or I believe that there has been abuse or harmful neglect of children or vulnerable adults, I am required to report this to the relevant state agency and/or legal authorities.
- If I am required to do so by a court ordered subpoena.
Finally, I may discuss details of our session with my clinical supervisor, this practice is purely for the purpose of providing you with the best care possible.
Privacy policy
Your privacy is extremely important. Under no circumstances does Mindful Counselling and Psychotherapy share any of your personal information to a third party. The privacy statement below discloses what client information is collected and how it is used.
Client information is collected through:
- The submission of an electronic contact form. Clients may request further information through the submission of an online contact form. Information collected is used to make return contact with the client to provide any follow up information in response to their enquiry and not for any other purpose.
- The submission of an appointment booking. Information collected is used to enable us to provide you with your use of our booking system or our services; to keep up to date records and communicate with you about our services; or to facilitate payment for an appointment via our booking system. Our booking system Halaxy is powered by Braintree in Australia and Hyperwallet globally, which are both owned by Paypal, one of the world’s largest payments providers. As a security measure, card details are stored and tokenised through our payments gateway and not stored by Halaxy directly, so payment data is not stored with patient records and card details cannot be retrieved.
Cancellation policy
Clients are required to provide a minimum of 24 hours notice if they are not able to attend an appointment, or need to reschedule an appointment. Any cancellations will be refunded back on to your original payment method.
If you are unable to attend a booked appointment and you do not provide a minimum of 24 hours notice to cancel or reschedule the session, the full cost of the session will be charged. This is because the appointment cannot be reallocated to another client within this short time period.
Please don’t hesitate to ask if you have any questions about our terms and conditions.
